Occupation: teacher on sabbatical Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 2 Comments: 2003-2008 Years of wedded bliss and happiness with my soul mate, Bill Bailey. We were married in May, 2003 at Millard's Crossing in Nacogdoches. Bill had ten groomsmen, all wearing loaded six shooters. Jimmy Daniels packed extra ammo ( see wedding photo album) Fred Bright (Indio Calzeda) performed the old Etta James tune, "At Last". I waltzed down the aisle to "The Yellow Rose of Texas" played by the Attoyac River String Band. Bill works in the "oil patch" here in Houston and frequently commutes to corporate offices in Austria. He is so happy that his '67 hotrod Chevelle is running so he can drive it to our reunion. I am extremely proud of daughter Maribet, now 21, and son Geoffrey, 19. They are my happiest thoughts. Maribet is pondering which career path to choose. Geoffrey plans to attend University of North Texas in Denton to study Radio, Television and Film. He is a freshman at Lone Star College here in Houston. |

Occupation: 1st grade teacher Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 3 Comments: After graduation, I finished my BS degree in Elem Ed at SFA in May 1971 and married Jack Belmont. He worked at the Nacogdoches Fire Dept. & attended SFA in ROTC. I taught 1st grade in New London, TX. 1971-72. After Jack graduated, the Army sent us to Seattle, WA for 2 years. Then, I went to truck driving school and we bought a Kenworth tractor. We worked as a husband-wife truck driving team driving all over the US and Canada hauling freight from 1974 - 1976. We bought a home in Forestville, NY. We had three girls in '77, '79, and '81. I stayed home with the girls and kept books for our trucking business. I went back to school in '86 and completed my Masters Degree in Elem Ed. I worked in the business and substitued in the schools. We decided to move to Washington in 1991. Now we have a new home we built in 2005 on the Puget Sound (salt water) on Eld Inlet in Olympia, WA. Jack has another trucking business and I teach 1st grade in Rochester, WA about 35 minutes from our home. I just bought a 2007 blue Corvette Coupe this summer which makes driving to work really fun!! All three of our girls are married. Two daughters, Melinda & Donna, live in Seattle, WA only 1 hour away. We have one 17 month old granddaughter and we have another granddaughter due in June '08. Our other daughter, Brenda, lives in Portland, OR. about 1 1/2 hours away. I plan to come to the 40th reunion. It will be fun!! |

Occupation: Business owner Marital Status: Married Comments: I left Nacogdoches in 1968 and went away to college. While at Panola Jr. College(Carthage), I met my wife to be, Nevilee, and we were married(my best all time decision) in 1970 prior to moving on to Lamar University(Beaumont). After college, we moved to Tyler where I went to work for General Electric in manufacturing management. In 1975, I was offered the opportunity to particpate in their Manufacturing Management Program and was transferred to San Jose, CA, working in the Nuclear Power industry. One of my assignments was working as a Project Engineer and being the prime interface with the state ASME Nuclear Inspector(my degree is in Business). That was a stressful but fulfilling position. After 10 years with GE, I moved over to Xerox as a Project Engineer(what were they thinking?) and put in 10 years with them before getting caught up in the layoffs. After that, I spent another 6-7 years with contract manufacturing companies build parts for the GE's and Xerox's. Nevilee and I had a great time in California. There is so much to do, from the ocean to the mountains. We skied, snowmobiled, partied on our Party Barge at a lake in the Sierra's at the 5,000 feet elevation. Camped at Yosemite a bunch of times, once for Thanksgiving. Twice had bears go through our camp site. Stood on ledge overlooking Nevada Falls with about 30 other people and watched a yearling bear go through my neighbors backpack and select an apple before running off. We were about 7 feet away, he didn't seem too bothered. We couldn't say the same. California is a beautiful area, just too many people and too much concrete. Moved up to the Seattle area in 2001(movers were at the house on 911, guess that should have told us something!). Seattle is also beautiful, maybe more than California and almost as much to do. We were only there two years before moving back to Texas. Now we live in Longview and have the opportunity to be with family more as well as get re-acquainted with old friends. |

Occupation: Missionary Marital Status: Divorced Comments: Greetings, fellow classmates. I just found this site and it's wonderful to see your faces, and to hear what you've been up to. I am divorced and have no children. I spent many years in communications and am now in Christian ministry. I am presently doing humanitarian work in W. Coast Florida but plan to return to Dallas in Mid. 2008. I had moved from Nacogdoches to Houston, and lived there for 12yrs. From there I moved to Phoenix, AZ. I was in Arizona for about 20yrs. From Arizona, I moved to Dallas, Tx and owned/ran a business for several years with a business partner. I am now in fulltime ministry, working with the very poor. It is very rewarding and the growth has been tremendous. I'm sorry I can't post a recent photo right now. I'm on a temporary assignment in a small area and don't have a scanner with me. Perhaps later. |
