The site is really appreciated and is looking good. In visiting the site, I find that there are a number of hits, indicating people are looking, but there really doesn't appear to be a lot of registering of classmates. I would encourage those individuals visiting the site to register. Let us know who you are and where you are at.

I would like to express my appreciation for each of you that made our first organizational meeting.  I know you probably have REAL lives and had to take time away from them in order to be there.  I think we have made a good start and looking forward to our next meeting.

Also, Edsel West is now in charge of the website and that is why you will notice a definite improvement in the content.  Now, we need our classmates to start giving their feedback.

Again, thanks for everyone's help.

I know we're working on our 40th reunion in "October"....

Why do we have to wait till then?   There's no reason we can't start getting together between now and then.  I live out of town, but I'm willing to drive in for the evening.  What are you "locals" doing?  Come on organize something. Set a date and time.  Send out invitations, and see who wants to come.  DARE TO BE GREAT!!!!!

Nice pictures.  Some day I'll get around to uploading something.  Edsel's doing a great job on the website.  Please give him any feedback.  It's the Class of '68's website, so tell him what you like.

I'm glad someone finally got pictures uploaded besides me. I've really been working on Glenn to get him to do the same. Thanks for registering and I hope we see you at the 40th. Now you just need to take a few minutes and tell us all about your last 40 years!

PS. Just a suggestion!

I personally liked the picture from the Princess Copper River Resort; I think you should have placed it in the now of the classmates page! I guess you think a few pic's will get me off your back. Looks great though and thanks for sharing.

I know, it took me long enough.  I took your suggestion and switched pictures(my back's getting tired!)  I see we've had a couple more responses.  Maybe they'll tell two friends, and then they'll tell two friends!

Hello to Glenn and all. Just found this site and sure brought back some memories. I was sadden to learn of the ones no longer with us. Does any one know when Celia Witt and Doug Collier passed and what happened. I last saw Doug back in the 80s when he was living near Garrison. Have lived in Atlanta since 77. Left Nacogdoches in 69 when I joined the Air Force. Thank you. Charles Pearce.

I am not sure how to put the now and then pictures on this website. I will work on it another time. A big thank you to all the people that have worked on this website. It will be fun to check it over the next months and see who is still around and what they are doing.

Mary Jo, When you registered you created a userId and password for future access to your personal information. You can simple click on the edit button in the classmates page next to your name, enter your id and password, and it will take you back to the section where you originally entered your personal information. If you have the ability to scan photos to your computer or have digital photos in your personal photo albums, you only need to click on the browse button next to the then and now photo identifies, select the appropriate file and photo(s) to upload and click OK. You may be prompted to allow access to your computer files by the program, if so simple click OK or Yes. The photos should then upload to the website. If you don't have a scanner or don't have a digital copy of your then picture, I have been scanning and uploading senior yearbook pictures for people. Hope this helps. Thanks for taking the time to register and share information on the website. Looking forward to seeing you in October.

Sounds like a good project of the planning committee. I think David Yates has contact with Ronnie; I will bring up for committee discussion at our June meeting.

I just received an email from David Montgomery asking if I knew of other classmates who might have served in the Vietnam War. We would be interested in knowing also of any classmate who might have been KIA, MIA, or served as a POW. If you have any information regarding this, please communicate such.

If there are others who served in the US Armed Forces, we would also like to hear from you and your experiences.

Recent emails from Freddie (Iverson) Taylor and David Montgomery, and the upcoming observance of Memorial Day has generated some long suppressed emotions and thoughts I have in respect to service to Our Country. Whether you agree with decisions of the political arena in committing armed forces to military conflict or not, this weekend marks a time to pay your respect to those who were called into service to protect our way of life and give us the personal freedoms that we all have today. Having been called to service during what is probably the most scorned and unpopular military conflict in United States history, I can attest to the fact(s) that once an individual is exposed to the sights, smells and sounds of combat, they are never lost. You carry the visions with you everyday and continue to have dreams, and sometimes nightmares, about those experiences. You remember the friends and comrades lost during battle; you see their forever young faces and hear their laughter in the good times and the bad.

Memorial Day was established to commensurate an observance to those individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice (the giving of their life) in service to this great country. I encourage each and every one of you to take the time to say thanks and give homage to the servicemen lost in protecting your right to freedom. And above all, remember to say thanks to those returning home for their commitment to preserving our way of life.

Sincerely,

Edsel

P.S. I still love the smell of NAPALM in the morning!

The only problem with your drops was that it was usually the next morning before we could smell the napalm. Did your targeting skills get any better during the 32 1/2 years or is that the reason you retired?

I have really enjoyed this website, I check it every week to see if anything new has been added and to catch up on fellow classmates and their lives. Edsel you and Glenn need to be commended for such a good job. The update on my husband is good keep your fingers crossed. I would like to send a contribution to the 68 alumni. Let me know where to send it.

Pam, contibutions to the Class of '68 should be mailed to Kathy Baker McGough, 3501 Churchill Drive, Nacogdoches, TX 75965. I hope your husband continues in his recovery. I know that with his health as it is that you will probably not be able to attend the reunion; you will be missed. Please remember that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time in your life. Thanks for the kind words regarding the website and stay in touch.

Sincerely,

Edsel

As of Friday September 19 we have had another procedure done on my husband's leg. The bottom part of the ilizarov was removed but the top part has to be worn for ar least 2 more months. This time the toes had pins inserted to straighten them. We should know how this works out in 8 to 10 weeks. It has been rough since I am still working night shift. We came through Ike ok, no trees on the house. But the pool is full of limbs and debris.
